We’re looking for inspirational children’s authors to be part of our very popular, effective and exciting creative writing initiative for primary schools – Readers to Writers 2027.

The project will take place during the Spring term of 2027 and is for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin primary schools.

Our Readers to Writers project has been endorsed by research carried out by the University of Worcester as having a profoundly positive impact on children’s creative writing.

We’re looking for children’s authors to run creative writing workshops in primary schools in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin (all year groups) during the week of 25th – 29th January 2027.

These workshops are key to the success of the Readers to Writers project. Our aim is that they will give children not only the thrill of meeting a published author but also the ideas, inspiration, top tips and confidence to spend the next few weeks writing their very own books.
