Awards Ceremony

UPDATE

Owing to the current lockdown situation that we have all found ourselves in due to the Coronavirus Covid-19, we have obviously had to cancel the Awards Ceremony for the Big Book Award 2020 at Theatre Severn on 23rd April.

HOWEVER….the Bookfest team was determined to make sure this project is celebrated and closed off in a true and proper fashion for the 39 primary schools and 1,400+ children involved.

So we made a brilliant and fun FILM version of the Awards Ceremony.  We’ve got in touch with all the six wonderful authors who’ve made special films for you, brilliant performance poetry on the six shortlisted titles from Sara-Jane Arbury, RESULTS of the film trailer, letter writing and art competitions.  We’ve also put together a montage of the weird and wonderful places that the children have found to read the shortlisted books.

It is ALMOST be like we are right there, together, in the theatre like we planned….but BETTER!

AND…..OF COURSE….we reveal the winning author and book for the Big Book Award 2020 title!
