Year 6 teacher, Corinne Davies-Griffith divulged this piece of news to the world from one of her pupils as she described to BBC Radio Shropshire the overwhelmingly positive impact of the Schools’ Week 2021 project.
Parent James Cartwright explained how his dyslexic daughter had been inspired with confidence and determination to finish reading her first ever novel and moved on to write her own book to enter into the county wide creative writing competition.
Schools’ Co-ordinator, Ali McGowan, explained how Shrewsbury Bookfest had worked with schools throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown to support teachers to ensure that pupils had all the resources and support to drive them towards being real, live authors themselves.
