With our projects each year reaching right across the county of Shropshire, we work with over 40 primary schools and thousands of children, it’s time to reflect this in our name.

Shrewsbury Bookfest is now known as Shropshire Bookfest.

From the very beginning in 1999 when we produced the annual children’s literature festival in May at multiple venues across Shrewsbury, our name Shrewsbury Bookfest reflected where we delivered on our aim to inspire, enthuse and entertain children through literature and the arts.

We’ve moved on quite a bit since then and we now focus on working with well over 40 primary schools and thousands of children right across the county of Shropshire every year with our Schools’ Week and Book Award projects. These two projects are proven to encourage children to write and read more than usual and create positive impacts on attitudes to reading and writing.

So it’s right that our name truly represents who we are and where we work…
