The Trustees at Shrewsbury Bookfest are delighted to report that Martin Brown, illustrator of the hugely successful Horrible Histories series, has accepted their invitation to become a Patron of the organisation.

Martin has always understood the ethos of Shrewsbury Bookfest, how we work and of course has delivered hugely popular, valuable and impactful events to children and their families at the May Festivals in Shrewsbury.  Martin has an excellent reputation in the world of children’s literature, and having him as patron is an opportunity to celebrate and showcase the illustrative element of children’s books.  In turn, Michael Morpurgo is stepping down as Patron after nearly 20 years of dedicated support and all at Shrewsbury Bookfest are eternally grateful to him for the kind backing and patronage he has given the organisation over the years.
