The Board of Trustees at Shropshire Bookfest are very pleased to welcome to the team Simone Goward as Schools and Volunteers Co-ordinator. Simone has a long and impressive track record in education and has been an advocate for children’s reading in many guises not least as a champion of Shropshire Bookfest. We are very excited about her future contribution to our projects, leading our brilliant team of coordinators and volunteers.

We were very fortunate to have a good field of high-quality candidates for both posts and even more blessed that Annabel Warburg, who is well known to us all as a stalwart of the charity for many years, expressed interest in the post of Project Manager. With her vast experience both of Bookfest and of the wider world of publishing, we are very pleased indeed to welcome her into this role where her experience and judgement will provide a stable and steadying hand as we journey into the next year with a new-look team.

As Annabel relinquishes her role as a trustee, we are joyously welcoming another new trustee, Corinne Griffiths, another longstanding supporter of Bookfest and its work  in her school. As a deputy headteacher at Hinstock Primary School, Corinne knows the value of our projects and understands the vision of the trust from the children’s perspective and will be a valued addition to the board.
