During the Autumn term of 2017, Year 6 children from 7 primary schools in Shropshire were tasked with reading a long-list of 55 books that were submitted by leading publishers, as part of Shrewsbury Bookfest’s Big Book Award 2018 project.
This book, suitable for children aged between 9 and 11, was enthusiastically put forward by pupils from Longden C/E Primary School in Shropshire as a hot contender for the shortlist. It was highly recommended by the children and so we thought we’d share this valuable information with you:
About the Book:
Dan is angry. Nothing has been the same since his big brother left, and he’s taking it out on the nearest and weakest target: Alex.
Alex is struggling. His severe OCD makes it hard for him to leave the house, especially when Dan
and his gang are waiting for him at school . . .
Then the boys’ mums arrange for them to meet up and finish building the raft that Dan started with his brother. Two enemies stuck together for the whole of the school holidays – what could possibly go wrong?
