Slick

About the book:

Eric Young is the first child android to be trialled in society, but he doesn’t know that. He does know that he’s just moved to Ashland from London, so it’s important that he makes new friends. Not just any friends, but the right kind – the kind that would be interested in skateboarding and the new Slick trainers his Uncle Martin sends him. He’s already growing his social media presence, but he knows it’s important to make friends in the real world too.

Danny Lazio doesn’t have any friends, but he doesn’t care about that. He would rather not be friends with someone like Eric, who’s had seemingly everything handed to him. But when Eric takes an interest in Land X, Danny’s favourite game, Danny thinks he might have found a real friend… if he can figure out the mystery behind Eric’s sudden disappearances and strange lifestyle. As their friendship grows, it becomes harder to ignore the weird events that happen around Eric, from weekly “dentist” appointments to inexplicable medical mishaps. But uncovering the truth is an act that might cost them both, as powerful forces soon move in around them.

It wasn’t really my type of book but good for people who like fantasy books about things that can’t really happen in real life. At times I found it quite boring.

Slick is by far one of my favourite books. At first I really wanted to change but when I got into it, I loved it. It replicates proper friendship at a new school.

I loved this book. It was exciting and it is a great book about friendship as Slick initially didn’t understand friendship but gradually he realised that Danny was his real friend.

This book is about a boy called Eric but he is known as Slick and his friends Danny and Ethan and how they find out that Slick may not be a real boy. I enjoy how you cant put the book down it’s a cliff hanger and a thriller will they ever find out the truth or will it remain secret.

I like Slick by M.M Vaughan because it is very fun to read. My favourite characters are Danny and Slick as Danny is a bit like me and I like Slick because he is loyal to his friends. I think this book is the best out of the variety we were given to read.

I like this book because of the action and tension. My favourite part is when they found out Eric [spoiler], when they make him a character in their favourite game so they can talk to each other again. I would recommend this book to people who like adventure and action .

I thought this book was unique because I haven’t read any book like it. my favourite scene was when Danny, Vito and Ethan put Slicks chip into Land X and see him on the game. It was emotional but happy at the same time. My favourite character is Mrs Lazio because she’s like a mom to Slick. I would recommend this book to people that like action, friendship and emotion.

This book is REALLY good and the author sucked me in from the first page! I enjoyed how Slick started off only wanting to be friends with the popular people but by the end he realised they weren’t necessarily the best type of friends. I really enjoyed this book.

I loved Slick, it was an amazing book and drew me in at the end and left me wanting to read more than I usually do. My favourite character was Ethan because he didn’t know what was happening until around about the end. My favourite moment was when Danny and Slick built the PC, it showed real teamwork and friendship. It was unpredictable in the end. Thank you for reading this

Slick is an interesting and gripping book that will catch your attention from the very start. I really enjoyed Slick as it had a cliff-hanger at every chapter and had a very intricate plot. My favourite character is Danny because he is loyal as a friend to Slick. I loved reading this book and I hope that anyone who reads this book feels the same way that I do. My favourite scene was when Slick went to the dentist and they find out *spoiler alert*. Slick is a book full of adventure and mystery!

Hello, I wanted to say this book is not really my type but it is very long so people who might like books might like this one then it will be very good for you to read. I don’t want to spoil this book for anyone, I can tell by the comments that people love this book so if I was them i would explore more of M.M.VAUGHAN’S books. But at the same time this book is quite lovely with the friendship in it. (if I was to rate this book out of 10 it would be 5/10 sorry).I might go look at some more of your books to see if I like them.

Slick is extremely intense near the end. It is very humorous and made me chuckle. Half way through the book makes you want to read the rest of it in one go and is very impressive how everything from the start links in with all the things in the end of the book. The book makes you think about what will happen next and gets you hooked early on and i would recommend this book for everyone. There wasn’t a single predictable moment in Slick and everything catches by surprise. There wasn’t a single section of Slick that I did not like.

This is a heartwarming, sad story full of friendship, adventure and discovering deep secrets. I think many people would enjoy this book especially if they are into robots/androids. I really enjoyed this book because of it’s sense of mystery and the different perspectives of the two main characters Danny and slick (Eric Young). It also contains daring feats
