Art CPD for Teachers

To support teachers in the production of fantastic entries to this year’s Book Award 2022 Art Competition, we are very pleased to announce that we are running two fun and inspirational ART CPD sessions at Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery in February 2022.

These workshops, led by Sasha Morris-Bhatia, will be a practical, inspiring, ideas based sessions encouraging the use of a range of media in response to the shortlisted books.

You will leave with a bank of ideas and increased levels of confidence to take back to your art teaching to inspire your pupils taking part in the Art Competition as part of Book Award 2022.

Comments from teachers who attended previous Art CPD sessions for Book Award 2020:

Some really good ideas on how to teach art from the kids’ point of view – preparation for the competition before beginning entry.

Absolutely fantastic CPD. I went home and planned the next 8 weeks work around it.

There were lots of ideas I can use in my classroom and particularly ways to ‘have a go’ and get started.  I loved the ideas linked to the books and particularly the idea of reading the text whilst children are drawing.
