From the author of The Girl Who Stole an Elephant comes another brilliant escapade. A thrilling adventure set in fictional Sri Lanka, jam-packed with peril and kidnap and a huge blue whale!
Razi, a local fisherboy, is watching turtle eggs hatch when he sees a boat bobbing into view. With a chill, he notices a small, still hand hanging over the side… Inside is Zheng, who’s escaped a shipwreck and is full of tales of sea monsters and missing treasure. But the villains who are after Zheng are soon after Razi and his sister, Shifa, too. And so begins an exhilarating adventure in the shadow of the biggest sea monster of them all…

Amazing… for me because I love being by the sea.
I can clearly say that this has been my favourite book so far. I love that it is about one of my favourite animals. I am definitely voting for this one.
I can very clearly say that this has been my favourite book so far. I love that it is about one of my favourite animals. I am definitely voting for this one.
If you like sort of adventure books then this is a great read. I liked this but I feel like they don’t mention the whale much and dragged it on a bit too long
I loved this book as it is about a war and evacuating the people in the city
I really enjoyed The Boy Who Met a Whale. It has lots of drama and once you start reading it its hard to stop. I recommend this book to someone who likes drama and violence.
I think that this book could with a little bit of modern day things because it is based on past years and needs a bit more realism.
So far I am really enjoying The Boy Who Met A Whale. I have not yet finished it yet but so far I am loving it. The drama is really good and you don’t get bored of the book. I think so far out of the two I have read I am preferring The Boy Who Met A Whale.
I loved The Boy Who Met a Whale. It was filled with adventure and mysteries. It kept me gripped every page.
I think The Boy Who Met A Whale is a good book because it has got loads of drama, and if you liked this book you could also read The Girl Who Stole An Elephant by Nizrana Farook.
In my opinion The Boy who Met a Whale is a really pulling story at the start. I am only on chapter 6 but right now its a very interesting and a good story I would definitely recommend this to people
I have finished reading this book now and I have thoroughly enjoyed reading every page, because it is a page-turner with lots of suspicion. This book is also action-packed with adventures and lots of drama, and you get stuck in from page 1! I also love the storyline and the backstory of each character. I would highly recommend.
I really like this book and I think it is quite an interesting idea. I think it could have been more about the whales baring in mind the book is called ‘The Boy Who Met A Whale’ but I enjoyed the amount of action and the slight part of mystery.
Well I just finished The Boy Who Met A Whale but it’s a bit hard to get into but when you do get into it it’s amazing.
The Boy Who Met A Whale is a really good book because at the start Razi found the boy in a boat. It was exciting when he was floating closer because I thought the whale was underneath. I liked the ending because it was happy.
The Boy Who met a Whale is a great book. We are reading it as a class.
I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it. I liked the pictures and the writing. The adventure was amazing.
There are a lot of cliffhangers that keep me reading. It is a nice adventure book you can enjoy in a small amount of time. It is very easy to understand, and the idea of the book is enjoyable.
This book had an amazing gripping introduction full of action and adventure with not one bit being boring. The storyline in this book is amazing never losing you its also the characters are described beautifully and their actions and emotions in the stories are amazing. thank you .
This book was really fun and I enjoyed the all time, intense, but there should be a bit where it explains everything as for some people it can make no sense for like starter readers. So this is a 5/5 for me.
The Boy Who Met a Whale is a really exciting start to a story, fabulous description.
The Boy who met a Whale was impeccable because it was intriguing and dragged me into the life of the characters. The story has a lot of tension in it like how Razi’s father had passed on. I enjoyed this book because it had terrific description and tension for the reader and was really engaging.
This book was OK but wasn’t my favourite.
I liked this book since it included animals and
it was nice and easy to read.
I have got just short of 80 pages left in this book and I am very determined to finish it. I hope there is more about the whale though, seen as the title is ‘The Boy Who Met A Whale’.
I loved it! The short chapters made it way easer to read. There was one thing that confused me. It was when they thought a whale was a shark how do they not see the difference? Otherwise I found it amazing! When one of them fell into the sea it scared me to death! I am really happy this made the short list!
I really enjoyed this read. I liked how they went on an adventure to help Zheng. Razi and Shifa are caring for Zheng and help him out.
I have recently started The Boy Who Met A Whale 🐋. I am enjoying it but I don’t feel like it is as gripping as the other books. As I am so new to it, I can’t really recommend it but I have heard it is an adventure book so if you like lots of action I think you will enjoy this book.
Happy reading everyone!
The book was the best book I have ever read and the best part is when in every chapter the scene changes from Razi and Shifa fighting the weather of the island to Zheng trying to out skill Marco and Cook and try to find Razi and Shifa and find the treasure that was a knife.
The book was fun to read because it was very adventurous and mysterious, so I think it’s my favourite I have read so far.
I really liked The Boy who Met a Whale. It’s very adventurous and I was on page 178 and I was determined to finish it to see what would happen next.
From the start I knew I would love The Boy Who Met a Whale, it was very enjoyable and definitely one to call a page turner.
We chose this as our classroom novel, and separately we read it. I like the story, it had a pirate ship in it and treasure.
Really believable as they don’t jump on a racoon or ride unicorns.
On the first sentence I was hooked and tons of questions flooded into my mind.
Really gripping story I loved every bit
